Changing Your Preferences


When you click on the indexing icon, a window will open up and you will see, "My Batches: followed by three boxes. Make sure the first box says "indexer". The second box is where you download a batch and the third box is where you can select if you want to work online or offline.

When you click on the box to download a batch, you will first see a pop-up that gives you a tip of the day. Read the tip and then close the box. Now you will see the list of project.  If you select "show all projects", you can scroll up to Italian records. "Italia" and select the record you want to index. Double click on the batch and it will download into your list of batches and you are ready to start indexing.

If you prefer, you can set up your preferences so that it will only show you the batches in the language you want to work on.  On the far left of the box, you will see "Edit My Preferences" When you click on that link it will ask you to log in again. (They want to make sure you are in your own account.)

Here is were you can select your preferences.  You can allow familysearch to send you email. Next you will select the difficulty level. All foreign languages are classified as intermediate, so please select "Intermediate". Then you can select the project language. Please select "Italiano" and any other languages you would like to see. Don't forget to save the changes

After you press "save" you will see a pop-up that will show you what your preferences are. You will then need to close out and open the indexing program again. Now when you download a project, select "Show preferred projects" and you will only see the projects you selected.
